What to expect

Mimino Vilnius is a much-loved hidden gem on Gerosios Vilties gatvė, south-west of the city centre, that diners agree is well worth the short trip out. The draw is authentic, high-quality Georgian cooking served in a cosy, home-like room warmed by a fireplace, with exceptionally friendly, welcoming staff. Portions are very generous — ideal for a group that wants to graze across the menu — and the calmer, off-the-tourist-trail location makes for a relaxed, unhurried meal.

The kitchen turns out the Georgian classics with care: khinkali (soup dumplings), khachapuri (cheese-filled bread), shashlik skewers and kharcho soup all feature. A couple of things to know before you go: there's no dedicated dessert or kids' menu, the odd dish can occasionally be unavailable, and it can get busy at peak times, so a little patience helps. On-site parking is a welcome convenience given the location.
